I had my daughter referred to Mr Borrill after years of treatment and support for my own knee and hip issues. My daughters complex meniscal tear was a real worry in one so young. Mr Borrill worked up a treatment plan to repair the damage and ensure the best chance of longterm success, whilst taking on board our concerns, explaining in detail exactly what the issue was and how he planned to treat it. Mr Borrill is a consummate professional who genuinely cares about his patients, planning treatment that supports the individual to get back to as much of their previous lifestyle as possible and I would be happy to recommend Mr Borrill as a surgeon to anyone unfortunate enough to need knee or hip treatment.

The first thing I should say is that I carried out a great deal of research which led me to selecting Mr Jonathan Borrill as the right surgeon to carry out my right knee replacement operation which was performed with a successful outcome about 18 months ago. 2 months ago I had my other knee replacement completed successfully again with Mr Borrill. In terms of the levels of competency, professionalism he is outstanding in both. In terms of care and his people soft skills he is exemplary in his approach and manner in the way he communicates, listens and responds to patient. I have always found him to be approachable and caring in the manner where nothing is too much trouble . I would like to personally thank him for all he has done for me and extend that thanks to his wonderful team and his secretary Alison who has become like a personal friend as has Mr Borrill throughout the process. Mr Borrill has performed to medial knee replacement operations on my knees in the last 20 months. As a result I am now back to playing Tennis, walking over 5 miles and all normal activities I used to enjoy over 10 years ago. Very caring and professional

I was extremely concerned when originally advised that I would need surgery to address problems with my knee. Especially when you read so much on the internet. Following initial consultation with Mr Borrill, those fears were allayed completely. Whilst the operation (High Tibial Osteotomy) is a serious one, the detail and confidence post consultation addressed any negativity I was feeling. Pre surgery and post surgery care has been excellent. Pre-surgery the pain from the knee was unbearable at times and impacted very negatively in any physical activities, to the extent it became impossible to attempt it. Post surgery and following to the letter Mr Borrill’s advice along with the physiotherapist advice, was am back to actively walking again, attempting running and even considering playing football again. I would highly recommend Mr Borrill if anyone is considering surgery if this type and the Royal Alexandra and their staff. Thank you so very much for giving me back the activities I enjoy so much.
